Chapter 3
Chapter 3
Ate's POV
The room was dark, and I couldn't see his face clearly.
As the man panted in my ear, I felt pain, but even more, I felt a desperate need for him.
I don't remember much of what happened after that, only that once he took control, he became a beast.
It was dawn as I opened my eyes again.
I looked around the room and began to remember what happened last night.
I sat up abruptly and felt a pain in my lower body.
The bathroom door was opened.
A man walked out.NôvelDrama.Org content rights.
I slumped on the bed, frightened.
The man had a bath towel wrapped around his lower body. He glanced at me and said in a cozy tone, "Hey, you."
I looked at the handsome man in front of me. I couldn't believe my eyes.
I knew him, the man I had a one-night stand with.
He is Connor Norman.
Connor was not just the Alpha of a pack. He was also the president of a listed company with great power and enviable wealth.
In other words, he was not someone to be trifled with.
I looked at Connor and said with a shivering voice, "Alpha Connor."
"Take a shower first. We'll talk later." Connor picked up a bath towel and wrapped it around his body.
"There's nothing to talk about. I've got to go now," I said.
"Your name is Ate, right?" Connor said. "Don't you want to talk about last night?"
"Alpha Connor, I was drunk. Let's pretend nothing happened," I said in a calm tone.
Connor was surprised.
He looked at me. "Well, is there anything I can do for you?"
I got his point and was slightly embarrassed.
"As far as I know, you are a Rogue and don't belong to any pack. I don't think your life is easy. So, if you need my help, say it now." Connor dried his body with a towel and then threw it to the ground casually.
I acted indifferently and said, "No, I'm fine. But just this one thing, please keep this between us."
"That's it?"
"Yes," I said seriously.
Connor sized me up. Then, he nodded expressionlessly.
I got dressed, looking slightly embarrassed. I packed her things in haste and left the room.
I rushed out of the hotel and let out a sigh of relief.
In Akron, Connor represented power, wealth, and danger.
I heard that Connor killed the Blood Moon Pack's former Alpha and replaced him.
I know I should stay away from him.
Plus, Blood Moon Pack and Black
Thorn Pack had always been
enemies. Despite territorial disput
they
were also business sel
rivals.
If the werewolves of Black Thorn Pack knew that I had slept with Connor, I would be in huge trouble.
I dialed Kyle's mom's
number."President Fiona, I will break up with Kely! You promised before that if agree to break up with Kyle, you will offer me a job at the university...."
In the old days, I would never consider her offer, but not anymore.
I said without hesitation, "I will reject Kyle. I want to work at the werewolf university."
When I arrived at the school gate, a car stopped in front of me and it looked familiar.
The doors opened, and two people got out of the car.
It was Kyle and Lena.
"Ate."
Lena ran toward me from under the umbrella. She clasped my hands.
"Ate, I'm so sorry. It's all my fault. I'm such an awful person. I'll do anything, as long as you forgive me."
Kyle looked at me with guilt on his face. "Ate, I don't know what got into me yesterday. I..."
I looked at them standing in front of me. My heart ached again, but this time, it was not as painful.
One of them was my mate, and the other was my roommate and friend.
"Kyle, you don't have to apologize to me. We are even now. Because of you, I got the job I wanted. You owe me nothing. And you, Lena, since you slept with Kyle, you and I were no longer friends. He is all yours now. So, from now on, don't pretend that we are still close, because you don't deserve to be my friend
anymore. Now, I need to go to work."
I stepped back and ran toward the curb.
I was running fast and didn't notice a black car that was taking a turn toward the university.
When I noticed the car, it was too late and I was hit by it.
I staggered back a few steps and fell to the ground.
Kyle shouted, "Ate!"
I dragged myself to my feet, using the car as a prop.
Without a word, I limped to the car, opened the door, and got it.
Besides the driver, there was another man in the car.
I did not take a closer look and only looked out the window at Kyle. He was approaching, and I shouted to the driver,
"Take me to the convenience store on the second street, or I will call the police about the car accident."
The driver was a little hesitant. Meanwhile, the man sitting in the back seat said, "Take her to the place she mentioned."
The voice sounded familiar.
I turned around in surprise and said, "Alpha Connor?"
