Becoming strangers again (Lily and Ryan)

Chapter 152

RYAN

I am due to return to New York today, but there is something that I need to handle, something that needs to get done.

Lily offered to drive me to the airport, but I declined the offer. I gave her the excuse that she should stay back with the boys at home, so they won't cry or have moody feelings about me leaving.

She bought my excuse and kissed me goodbye before I got into the car. A few days ago, I had some of my men look into Amell. They provided his home address for me, which is why I am headed to his house, instead of the airport, hoping to meet him at home.

Pulling over outside his gate, my driver got out of the car and rang the bell. Fe minutes later, I saw his door open, thanks to how low his fence was and the construction of his gate.

He paused at the sight of cars parked outside his gate. Rolling his wheelchair, he made his way over to the gate, pushed it open, and rolled out.

I watched him through the tinted glass as he interacted with my security who gestured towards the car. Amell frowned at something my security said and shook his head.

Jerry gave him a nod before approaching my car. I wined down the glass for him. "what's going on?"

"He refuses to move beyond the range his camera can capture," Jerry informed me.

I don't have a problem with that. I am not here to fight him. Reaching for the handle, I pushed the door open and stepped out.

Amell stared at me with a deadpan expression. "For you to have known where I live, I am certain you have heard about the fact that I was involved in

an accident and have been bound to a wheelchair for one week, yet you remain in your car, expecting a man with no functional legs to meet you."

"I am not the cause of your affliction." I deadpanned, "Don't expect me to bend over for it."

Shocked and dumbfounded by my response, he scoffed. "You just had to have a nasty character." Folding his hands, he stared up at me. "So to what do I owe this visit?"

"You are going to stay away from my wife and kids," I instructed.

The young man simply blicked indifferently before chuckling. "is that an order or a request?"

"I don't care how you want to interpret it, but it is most definitely not a request." Placing both hands on the side of his wheelchair, I leaned towards me. "Lily, the boys, and my mother are literally the only people I care so much about," and definitely Angelo, "and I will not stand by and watch someone ruin that for me."

His eyes danced around my face, trying to focus despite my closeness to his face. "You want to know what I see?"

I don't give a fuck. Standing erect, I dipped both hands into my pocket and cocked my head, my lips tight in a line. "I don't care what you think, but I don't think that is going to stop you from voicing it."

"I see an insecure man." He drawled, trying to get on my nerves but failing. "even if you don't trust me Williams, at least trust your wife."

Fuck him. I trust Lily with every fiber of my being. She will never cheat on me. However, what I do not trust is her judgment when it comes to humans, and I am going to make that judgment for her. "My wife once had a male friend," I pointed out, "do you want to know how that friendship turned out? He was a psycho, a thief who wanted her and my kids dead and I will never allow such an incident to happen again."

He licked his lips. "there is a thin line between being obsessive and being caring."

"I am obsessed with my wife." I clarified in case he missed it. "I am never going to deny that. Stay away from my family while I am being nice to you." Amell's eyes narrowed. "Is that a threat Mr. Williams? Because that sounds awfully like one to me."

"I don't make threats." I gritted out, "I make promises and I am promising you here that if you don't stay away from my wife and face your duties at the hospital, all your business and personal matters, information, and everything you can think of will

become mine."

I should leave. There is nothing left to be said. Turning, I got into my car and my driver drove me to the airport.

"What is this I am hearing about

your father?! Mum yelled at me the moment walked through the front door. "You ordered an autopsy, had someone fake my signature to get it approved, and you covered it all up as if it didn't happen, then sent him down to the ground?"

How did she get to know this? Rubbing my hand down my face with a sigh, I wondered why today has to be difficult. "How did you learn all of this Mum?"

She lifted her hand and slapped me hard across the cheek. My face

swiped to the right from the

of the slap. “My husband was murdered, was poisoned to death and have to find out the news?"

Fucking hell! Pulling out my phone, I quickly scrolled through the news in search of the news and it was everywhere. His autopsy result and the reason for his death.

Someone is going to lose their job for letting such information leak into the problem. All of this is more problem from the board. “I was going to tell you when we find the killer," I informed her.

"So that is supposed to make me feel better?" she spat.

"No." I took a step towards her, knowing she needed a hug from me. "You lost your husband, and you just found out that he was murdered, of course, you shouldn't feel any better."

Tears rolled down her face and she quickly wiped it off. "Any suspect?"

I shook my head. "Right now, his secretary is being invested. He died three hours before he was found dead and they just need to find out where he was three hours before his death."NôvelDrama.Org owns this.

Nodding, she licked her lips. "Send me the number of the officer in charge of this case, I want to be updated."

"Sure, I will."

My phone chimed in my hand and I lifted it, waking the screen.

It was a message from Angelo.

I HAVE THE INFORMATION YOU NEED ON MAYA AND HER MOTHER, AND IT IS A RATHER INTERESTING ONE.I'm
