Chapter 32 A Sense of Inferiority
Gwenyth stepped forward and walked up to Edison.
On the way back, she had prepared herself mentally.
Anyway, she and Edison had made love before. The contract was only valid for three months. Three months would soon pass.
Gwenyth put her mobile phone on a coffee table and sat directly on Edison's lap. She encircled her arm around his neck and unzipped her dress with the other hand. She took off her dress in front of Edison.
Edison's eyes ran from her fair shoulders, neck, and collarbone to her deep eyes.
Seeing Gwenyth's sullen face, Edison knew she had given up resistance.
"Are you reluctant to come back?"
Gwenyth shook her head violently and smiled at him. "No, I am willing to be with you."
Edison thought with sarcasm, 'What?'
'If I hadn't sent the message and told you would pay 868,800 dollars for breach of contract, would you have come back?'
Edison's expression was glacial as he thought of how Gwenyth had kneed him in the groin.
"You don't have to force yourself."
Gwenyth thought Edison was deliberately making things difficult, so she hurriedly said, "Not at all."
She actively put her arms around Edison's neck and kissed his cheek.
Edison could only feel Gwenyth's awkwardness instead of enthusiasm and her desire.
Gwenyth kept kissing Edison's cheek stiffly.
"Enough is enough."
Edison turned his face to the other side.
Gwenyth turned Edison's face toward hers and kissed him eagerly on the lips as if she hadn't heard his words.
She imitated Edison's way of kissing and tried to slip the tip of her tongue between his lips. Exclusive © content by N(ô)ve/l/Drama.Org.
Edison frowned and felt inexplicably agitated.
He pushed Gwenyth away, but Gwenyth hugged him tightly again.
"Stop now!"
Edison growled.
Gwenyth was startled and was at a loss.
"Get out."
"Mr. Yates, I will behave myself in the future."
Edison was glad that Gwenyth had chosen to come back but hated that she pleased him just for money.
He pushed Gwenyth off his lap.
Gwenyth propped herself up quickly on the sofa and tried to hug Edison again.
He grabbed Gwenyth's wrist so tightly that her wrist almost broke.
"It hurts."
"You feel pain, but don't you feel ashamed?"
These words hurt Gwenyth's feelings.
Gwenyth thought with self-deprecation, 'Can the sense of shame pay off all my debt?'
She lost her dignity since she had decided to sign the contract with Edison.
In addition, it was Edison who had asked Gwenyth to fawn over him.
Gwenyth was ready to pay any price now.
She thought, 'Isn't it all about having sex?'
'Is there any difference between having sex once and twice?'
Gwenyth pulled the straps of her bra off her shoulders.
Edison's brow furrowed.
"I've had enough of you!"
Gwenyth didn't intend to stop, and the straps of her bra hung loosely on her arm. Edison grabbed the dress she had taken off and threw it at her.
The dress covered Gwenyth's head.
Her vision suddenly became blurred.
She heard Edison's footsteps gradually fading away.
"Isn't this what you want?"
Gwenyth asked loudly and nervously.
Edison didn't respond.
Gwenyth moved the dress away from the head and found that Edison had left.
After sitting blankly on the sofa for a while, she pulled the straps onto her shoulders and put on the dress.
To calm down, Edison locked himself in the study for several hours.
He didn't come out until he was hungry.
He didn't find Gwenyth in the main bedroom. When he went to the first floor, he heard noises in the kitchen and found that Gwenyth was preparing lunch after getting closer.
Gwenyth was still wearing the light-colored dress. She wore an apron, and her long black hair was casually tied behind her head.
While frying the steak, she mixed the vegetable salad. She cooked methodically and skillfully.
Edison leaned against the door, looking at her thoughtfully.
Gwenyth didn't seem to notice Edison and was busy cooking with her back turned to him.
Edison shifted his gaze to Gwenyth's calf. There was an inconspicuous scar on her right calf, which he had noticed before.
Gwenyth had a fair complexion, which made her scars obvious.
"How was your calf scarred?"
Gwenyth was about to turn the steak over and froze when she heard Edison's voice. She looked back and met his gaze. But she turned back quickly.
"By accident."
Gwenyth responded casually and turned the steak over in the pan.
"How would you like your steak done?"
Edison was silent.
"What about medium-well?"
"It's up to you," Edison said casually and left.
He went straight to the dining room and sat down, waiting for his lunch.
The steak was beautifully served as a cold dish, with a few slices of poached broccoli and heart- shaped carrots.
The steak was crispy on the outside and tender inside. It smelt good and was topped with a black pepper sauce.
The vegetable salad came in a transparent bowl. Gwenyth had prepared another bowl for Edison and filled it with some salad.
Then Gwenyth stood aside like a nanny waiting for Edison's order. She intentionally fawned over him.
"Would you like some wine, Mr. Yates?"
Before Edison could speak, Gwenyth remembered that he was still taking anti-inflammatories. She said hurriedly, "Forget the wine. It reduces the effect of your medicine."
Edison glanced at her and asked, "Don't you have lunch?"
"I'll eat later."
"Sit down and eat together."
Edison said in a casual tone but allowed no refusal.
Gwenyth nodded and took her steak from the kitchen. Sitting carefully opposite Edison, she picked up her knife and fork and ate slowly.
"Did you call your mother?"
Edison asked her suddenly.
"No. I still want to go home to get a change of clothes and some belongings."
"Ok," Edison said briefly and fell silent.
The dining room was quiet, and even the sound of knives and forks clashing against plates was monotonous and obtrusive.
Edison took on a set expression with his eyes drooped.
Gwenyth glanced at him from time to time.
When Edison smiled, he gave the impression of being unruly and arrogant. When he was expressionless, he appeared cold and domineering.
...
After finishing lunch, Edison wiped his lips with a napkin and left the dining room.
Gwenyth craned her neck to see Edison. Seeing Edison go to the second floor, she quickly cleaned up the dishes, put them in the dishwasher, and left with her bag.
She breathed a sigh of relief after leaving the Moonlight Villa.
What a tough day!
Gwenyth almost slipped into a debt of 868,800 dollars.
Fortunately, she reacted quickly and placated Edison successfully.
She wore a wry smile and felt inferior at the thought of how she had pleased Edison without dignity.
But she wasn't sad.
After all, Edison was her first love, and she used to love him deeply.
Four years had passed. She couldn't tell her feelings for Edison now.
It seemed that she still loved Edison, but not as deeply as before. Her heartbeat raced at the sight of Edison.
Gwenyth and Edison had grown up.
Time could change many people and things.
Gwenyth didn't expect anything.
She just wanted to maintain the current situation.
