Chapter 44
"That can't be possible! What about your studies? It would be hard to enroll you into a school now that the school examination is approaching. It would be hard for you to keep up." William said, slamming his hand on the table.
"I thought I told you that you can only come back home permanently if you graduate high school? But that's not the case now, even if you want to come back to school here, you should return back to abroad for now and finish your school examination. Then next term, I will surely change your school and you can come back home if that's what you want." He added after calmly himself. He had almost lost it when he heard Rose earlier.
However, before Rose could reply to her father, Beatrice quickly cut into the conversation.
"Honey, what do you mean we can't do something about her enrollment. It's a good thing that Rose had decided to stay with us, that way I can even bond very well with my daughter. " Beatrice clasped her hand together in excitement and looked at her husband.
Rose raised her brow at the way Beatrice was so excited to have her stay. For some reason, she felt like this woman was up to something and she already had an inkling on what it was but she remained quiet to no more. 'The more you stay silent and quiet the more you know about your enemy.'
"What are you talking about, Beatrice? Even though I have the connections it would be hard to still complete the process in such a short period of time." William frowned at what Beatrice was saying. He was trying to get Rose out of the country so that when she returned he would have prepared everything better than this visit that caught him off guard.
Even though Beatrice knew what William was trying to do, she was still blinded by the new mission. She knew Rose wouldn't be able to keep up for the college entrance examination if she switched school and it was to her advantage.
"You don't have to worry about that, honey. If Rose wants to stay here let her be. Are you forgetting that my friend is the newly appointed headmistress of Crystal Lake International Academy. I can reach out to her and ask for her help." Beatrice suggested still brimming with joy and excitement.
Rose narrowed her eyes at Beatrice. 'So this is where you think you can bring me down?' she thought to herself. Now that Beatrice had finally come out, she understood what she wanted to do. If she actually used her connection to help her into the school, it would be so easy for Beatrice to sabotage her studies and eventually fail her college entrance examination.
Although in her past life, she didn't have this conversation with her father about staying because it was only after she finished her examination did she finally come back to the country. However, she has heard of the name Crystal Lake International Academy in the past since it was the same school Sophia attended.
"Is that so? Then......I guess it wouldn't be such a bad idea either. How fast do you think she can work it? Though he wasn't pleased with it, he couldn't refuse any longer.
"I will call her later today after I'm done. I will persuade her to not let Rose take the school personal examination before they enroll students." Beatrice replied and turned to look at Rose.
"Don't worry dear, if you need anything with your studies, I'm sure Sophia can help you." she added, however, there was a hidden meaning to her words.
"Thank you, Stepmother. But you don't have to go through all that stress. I'm willing to take the school personal examination if that's that case." Rose smiled back at Beatrice.
Beatrice, William and Sophia were
taken aback by her words that they stared at her like she had grown another head. 'Is she nuts? Does she know how hard the school personal examination is? I even have a hard time passing and it's all thanks to mum's connection and our family status.' Sophia thought as she
stared at Rose.
"Rose, don't be ridiculous. You haven't studied for this kind of exam and you don't know what to meet. Just let your mother help you this time." William finally spoke, trying to convince Rose.
"I know that but I don't have to use our family connection to get enrolled in the school As far as I know, the examination is compulsory as it's the school rules so let me follow the rules and I'm confident in myself Rose Calmly replied, there was fear written on her face. "If that is all, I need to excuse myself, father, step mother and Sophia. I've got studying to do." She added and without waiting for their response, she got up from her seat and made her way back to her room.
After Rose left, Beatrice couldn't help but voice her concern as she caressed her husband's hand intimately."Honey, I'm a bit worried about that little devil..."
Rose had always been a thorn in her side, one that was hard to get rid of.
Everytime she laid her eyes on Rose it was a reminder of her failure, the fact that she lost the crown of "Mrs. Gray." to Roseline's mother.
To her, Rose's mother won the title merely because of the wealth of her family. Though she never knew the truth in the beginning, William only married her just for his own family's benefit. Every time she thought about the past, it made her clench her fists with anger
Seeing the hard expression on his beloved wife's face, William brought her hand to his lip and planted a kiss on the back of her hand to soothe her, "Don't worry, baby. I just need some more time, and when it's ready, you can do whatever you like with her." He assured her
"Honey, you are the best. I love you so much." Beatrice grinned as she leaned forward and hugged William who responded to her love with showers of kisses.
"Urgh, I can't watch this scene." Sophia grumbled as she got up from her seat and also headed to her bedroom.
"But, sweetie, why did you agree to let her stay?" William asked after Sophia left.NôvelD(ram)a.ôrg owns this content.
"We don't know what that brat would do if we send her away again, so it's only better to let her stay so that we can watch her every move."
"My wife is so smart." William smiled and placed another kiss on her lips. If not for the fact that he was going to work today, he would have led Beatrice back to the bedroom.
