Just as Winnie and Jamie thought the topic had passed and had moved on to other conversation, Ben suddenly spoke up. "So, if she's borrowing all this money, when exactly is she planning to pay it back?" The room fell silent.

"Why don't you go upstairs and rest for a bit? I'll start cooking. It's best for you not to be around the smell of oil and smoke. I'll come up and get you when it's ready," Ben said, using the excuse to send her away.
With a smile, Winnie stood up happily. Jack truly doted on her, even protecting her from kitchen smells. Compared to other pregnant women who had to handle all the household chores, she felt incredibly lucky.
As she disappeared upstairs, Jamie knew what was coming. Ben was about to get serious. There was no way he had been joking earlier.

repay" He didn't bother hiding the
disdain in his voice.
As Jamie struggled to think of a solution, Ben offered, "You can't pay this back on your own. But I can give you a way."
"What is it?" Jamie asked quickly, desperate for any option that would get her out of this situation.

"Be my mistress."
