Chapter 25 Your Parents
Chapter 25 Your Parents
As Julian saw her reaction, the corners of his lips curled up and a meaningful smile displayed on his
face. “We’re a couple, it’s normal for us to stay close. It would only be abnormal if we don’t.”
With that, he cornered her in the elevator, pressed his hands against hers like a bolt of lightning, and
kissed her gently on the lips.
Sadie gritted her teeth and opened her eyes wide with anger.
Julian blinked, his long eyelashes brushing her face in an attempt to tease her. He didn’t move,
pressing half the weight of his slender, well-built body against her, with no intention of leaving.
After a few moments of staring at each other, the elevator reached the 23rd floor and a crisp sound
rang out. This is property © NôvelDrama.Org.
Julian stood up straight and naturally put his arm around her shoulders, leading her out of the elevator.
She was not short, but still looked like a lovable little woman when she stood next to him.
Esme was not in the ward, after asking the nurse, Sadie turned and left.
Libby called her this morning and said that she had come to the hospital to sign a medical crisis notice
and that Dean Esme’s condition was still not expected to be good.
They went up to the 28th floor in dead silence. Sadie was taken by Julian to the ICU duty office to ask
the doctor on duty about Dean Esme’s condition.
“It’ll take two more days of observation to know the results.” The doctor sneaked a glance at Julian and
said in a businesslike tone, “Visiting hours are over, please come back tomorrow.”
Sadie thanked the doctor, turned around and walked out of the office blankly.
There were still observations to be made, which meant the situation was really not good, but from the
doctor’s attitude, it seemed that the treatment would still continue.
And she had to continue to live a life filled with untold suffering, and still had to ingratiate herself with
Julian. Only then would he be willing to help her.
Walking out of the doctor on duty’s office, Sadie loosened her lips that were tightly bitten together and
said in a weak tone, “Where’re we going now?”
“Of course we’re going home.” Julian was in a happy mood. She was so funny, of course it would be
more interesting to go home and make fun of her.
As they stepped into the elevator, he naturally took her hand and enclosed her in his arms, not allowing
her to escape from him.
Sadie struggled, but after a while, she found that his force gradually increased. Her face then took on
an unpleasant expression, “Mr. Mccarthy, you’re hurting me.”
“Well,” Julian responded with his eyes downcast to survey her, then threw out a rhetorical question,
“Isn’t that a favorite embrace position for couples?”
You were the one who fucking liked it! Sadie clenched her teeth, trying her best to suppress her anger.
“Here’s a public place. Please watch your public image.”
She said it politely, but her tone was tinged with irritation.
“You’ve got a point…” Julian agreed with her words, then dragged her even closer to him and wrapped
his hands around her shoulders. “This’s a public place, so as your parents, I’m supposed to keep an
eye on you.”
“What do you mean by parents?” Sadie raised her head in surprise, looking at his well-defined jawline
doubtfully.
Was she really stupid? Or did he and she not live in the same world? Why did she always fail to
understand what he said?
Julian turned her around, raising his hand to point to the notice posted on the elevator door: Dear
parents, please take care of your children and don’t make noise in the elevator.
Suddenly, Sadie fell into a trance. She was chilled by his lame joke, and almost responded to him with
expletive-filled outburst.
He really was a psycho!
The elevator stopped on the 22nd floor. As soon as the door opened, the bodyguards poured in. Julian
immediately grabbed her shoulders and turned her around with one arm around her shoulders and the
other around her waist, forbidding her to see who had entered the elevator.
He had calculated the time and brought her here on purpose, but unfortunately Otto wasn’t very
cooperative and he didn’t say a word to Sara.
But that was okay, the hospital’s surveillance cameras had captured some images that shouldn’t have
been taken. If Sadie wanted to see it, he was glad to accommodate her.
Soon, the elevator descended to the second floor in silence.
Julian hugged Sadie all the way, deliberately not letting her turn to face the people who came in.
“Otto, I’m really sorry that I came straight from the set today. I don’t expect the reporter to be so well-
informed either.” Sara held Otto’s arms and her voice was so coquettish that no one could bear to
blame her.
Sadie grabbed Julian’s shirt unconsciously as Otto’s slightly tired voice came to her ears, “Melissa, I’m
grateful that you come.”
Melissa? She tried to recall and eventually remembered that Sara was just her stage name. She was
the oldest daughter of the Brooks family, her real name was Melissa Brooks, and she was two years
older than Otto.
Before entering the entertainment industry, she was a well-known TV host, and graduated from a
popular foreign university.
Her sister, Leyla and Otto were childhood friends and grew up together, so there should be nothing
unusual about their relationship.
“Don’t mention it. It just so happens that I know the specialist at this hospital.” Sara’s face gleamed with
a smile, her voice soft and sweet. “Let’s have a drink together tonight. I’m off tomorrow.”
“Alright.” Otto’s voice deepened.
As the elevator reached the ground floor, they both walked out of the elevator intimately while Sara’s
giggles echoed all the way.
Sadie followed Julian out of the elevator as if nothing had happened, but then she turned and walked
toward the side door.
Sneaking a glance at the front door, her heart couldn’t help but ache as she saw that Sara itched to
hang herself on Otto’s body.
Otto didn’t seem to notice her.
“What’s wrong? You looked absent-minded.” Julian asked deliberately, the smile on his face hiding
some teasing.
Sure enough, this little woman cared a lot about that guy. She couldn’t even stand to see him be
intimate with another woman, then she should be desperate to see him have sex with another woman.
As he leaned over to open the car door, he glanced at the front door unconsciously and felt even more
puzzled.
Otto was a playboy and the woman he had sex with could even line up in a circle around B City. Who
would a playboy like him get a crush on his wife and even pretended to be a gentleman in front of her?
He was pretty sure that Sadie had never had sex with him.
After getting into the car, Julian raised his hand to check the time on his watch. While instructing the
driver to start driving, he naturally held Sadie’s hands and said gently, “Do you have a headache
again?”
“Yes, it hurts a little…” Sadie closed her eyes listlessly, but didn’t break away from his hand.
Otto and Sara hadn’t left yet, they were standing by the car for the reporters to take photos.
A black Rolls-Royce pulled out of the parking lot from the fire escape. Sadie opened her eyes
reflexively and when she saw that perfect couple, the sadness overwhelmed her again and almost
made her gasp for air.
He was always so gentlemanly and courteous, no matter who he was with.
It occurred to her that he said to her, “My silly girl, when are you going to grow up? I really can’t wait.”
At that moment, she felt her tear ducts burning.
Now she had grown up, but she was disqualified from being his bride.
Thinking about it made her hate Julian more and more. If he hadn’t played so many tricks on her, she
wouldn’t have to hide from Otto at all.
And she didn’t have to disappear from Otto’s world without telling him they had broken up.
“Do you feel bad?” Julian glanced sideways at her. “Should we turn around and go back to the
hospital? Doctor Darius doesn’t have time to go to the villa tonight.”
“No need,” Sadie replied in an emotionless voice, then remained silent.
Julian raised his eyebrows and leaned close to her, pressing his forehead against hers. In a seemingly
careless tone, he said “You’re sad. Why?”
