Chapter 887
The three ladies nodded, and Debra smiled as things were getting interesting. "What are you guys talking about?" Marion asked, walking into the room.
He was casually dressed in a white shirt and no tie, with several elegant shopping bags hanging from his arm.
The three ladies' eyes lit up. Not only was Marion powerful and wealthy, but he was also devastatingly handsome. With a husband like him, who would ever want to leave the house?
"We didn't expect to see you here during the day, Mr. Houston," one of the ladies said. "We would have brought an extra gift."
"Mr. Houston, you're so devoted to Mrs. Houston," another chimed in. "You spend all your time with her, unlike my husband."
The ladies blushed slightly, their intentions clear to Debra. Despite their age, they were still attractive and had their eyes on Marion.
Before Debra could respond, Marion spoke up. "Debra is new to the area, and she's not familiar with the surroundings yet. Feel free to chat with her, but please don't take her out. She's not feeling well and needs to rest."
His words were gentle but carried a subtle warning. The ladies, seasoned veterans of high society, quickly took the hint and made their excuses to leave.

"Yes, it is," Marion replied, placing a pink bag in front of her.
Inside was an array of adorable pastries. Debra's eyes lit up at the sight of the treats.
"How did you know I was craving something sweet?" she asked, quickly sitting up.
"I thought they'd go well with your tea," Marion said, arranging the cakes on the table. "If you don't want to see anyone, just say so. You don't have to entertain them on my account." en
"But I'm Mrs. Houston now," Debra said, gesturing to the jewelry, dresses, and handbags on the sofa. "Besides, I have no reason to reject gifts."
Marion raised an eyebrow. "If you want anything, you don't need to wait. Just tell me, and I'll get it for you."
Debra smiled, taking a bite of a cake. "But all your money is with me."
Marion pulled out a stack of bank cards, each adorned with different symbols, exuding the unmistakable scent of wealth.
"I just acquired these. They're all yours."
No woman could resist such a gift from her husband. Debra's eyes sparkled with delight.
"Not bad. Keep it up."
"Yes, ma'am."
Debra looked at a red dress on the sofa. "I think I'll wear this tonight."
"To the Eaton family's event?" Marion asked.
"The Eaton family?" Debra muttered, confused. "I thought the socialites here were hosting a banquet for Melody. Is it at the Eaton family's
house?" ne
"Melody went straight there after arriving. Where else would they hold the banquet?"
Debra was surprised. It was hard to believe that, at her age, Melody would rush to see her old flame.
