Chapter 5.
It wasn’t as if Jamal was fainthearte, neither was he attempting to hold anything back from them, the fact was that his mind was in turmoil, pondering over the inanity of worldly aspiration, when at the end of it all, all men will end up in the grave.
His mind flashed back to Sylvester’s lifeless body in the mortuary, this was the same person he played draft with about forty eight hours ago, bubbling with life and enthusiasm, he was very sound and healthy, then all of a sudden he became translated into a state of inaction.
“OMG! May his soul rest in perfect peace” Jamal muttered.
This unfortunate scenario change his notion about human existence completely, his mind eyes saw human existence as a Sterling complement of non-existence.
This is because we are all in this world to live for a limited time, when we eventually die, we are gone for eternity, if Marco’s father could only live and spend thirty seven years in this world that is composed of infinite number of years, then what is the meaning of life after all.
But inspite of all these, human beings are completely insatiable, everybody everybody wants to get the best out of life and at such they struggle and work very hard to achieve all these desire, not until one serene day when anybody least expect, the body will be laid like a sack of load, lifeless and placed in a grave and what is more? The usual word will imply,
“He is dead”
But as for Marco’s father, he died a poor man, even though he had struggled to make it in life, he didn’t live long enough to accomplish much, maybe if he had lived longer, he too would have become successful, besides fate had decided otherwise, not to ostracized him to the great beyond, but to force his sun to set at the prime of his life.
Not withstanding Jamal felt as if he should have been endowed with the idiosyncrasies of the medical scientists who thought they could use imaginary substance to make people live for eternity.
If only such an idea was realistic, he would gladly have acquired that elixir of life for his best friend, no matter what and how much it could have cost him.Belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.
“So you have choosen to become a statue? Why can’t you just say something so that we can atleast take necessary action, please Iam begging you, say something” a woman among the crowd, cried out.
“My people…” Replied Jamal, ” my body is buried in absolute despair, I cannot why this should happen to us at this point in time, this is a calamity, an unfortunate tragedy and it had descended on us like a polluted wind, our beloved brother and friend is gone”
This Revelation brought upon them a strange eerie silence, for some few seconds everyone just kept mooching around, utterly confused, some were already busy shedding uncontrollable tears, others who could not cry aloud did nothing else than to lament on the demise of this beloved fellow.
Without wasting much time, a meeting was summoned immediately as preparations for his burial got underway, thereafter every well wishers and family members assemble to work out modalities for a hitch free burial ceremony for Marco’s father.
