Chapter 8 My Stomach Aches
Chapter 8 My Stomach Aches
What?
She’s so daring!’
Linda thought, but she had already been pushed down to the floor, and punched and kicked by the servants. The pain was unbearable, but she gritted her teeth and did not shed a tear.
At noon, once all the dishes had been laid out on the dining table, Cecil went into the dining room.
He sat down at the head of the table and slowly picked up the cutlery. Just when he was about to take a bite of the food in front of him, he suddenly remembered that woman. She had not had breakfast in the morning, and it was already noon now. Wouldn’t she be hungry? Since he had told Martin that he would give him two days to find Leona, he had to make sure that this woman was safe and sound until then.
Thinking of this, Cecil ordered a servant to bring Linda to him.
“Yes, sir.”
Five minutes later, Linda staggered into the dining room, supported by a servant.
Her clothes were messy and haggard, and her body was covered in bruises and bloodstains. Squinting at her, Cecil asked, “What happened?”
The servant supporting Linda tentatively said, “Sir, this fake had a conflict with Chelsey, so…she was beaten up.”
Cecil’s face darkened. He stood up and walked up to the woman who looked just like Leona. He raised her chin with his long finger and asked, “Does it hurt?”
Perhaps because of the tenderness of his voice, tears streamed down Linda’s cheeks like a floodgate had been opened.
When Cecil felt the warm tears on his fingers, his heart shrank.
“My stomach aches… I have chronic stomachache…” Linda said between sobs.
Cecil lifted her up in his arms and said to the servant, “Go and call the doctor.”
“Yes, sir.” The servant left immediately.
With Linda i
n his arms, Cecil walked to the dining table and sat back down on his chair, resting her on his thighs like she was a child. After wiping her face with a piece of tissue, he picked up some food with a spoon and held it up to her lips. “Eat something.”
The two servants standing aside looked at each other in shock.
Everyone in this villa knew that Cecil was obsessed with cleanliness. No one was allowed to touch his things, and his two sets of cutlery were custom products. One set was laid out on the table for him, while the other spare set sat in the storage room, never before opened. All rights © NôvelDrama.Org.
Linda stared disbelievingly at the food in front of her. Seeing how gentle the apple of her eye was being to her, she couldn’t hold back the tears that surged out of her eyes.
She was so touched that she even forgot to open her mouth. A flicker of impatience crossed Cecil’s eyes as he gently reminded, “Eat something. You’ll feel better.”
Hearing his words, Linda obediently opened her mouth and looked at the man feeding her.
After swallowing the food, she said sincerely, “Thank you, Mr. Bo.”
Cecil stiffened, and his face suddenly turned cold again.
Leona never thanked him for anything.
At this time, the doctor arrived. Cecil set Linda down on the floor and said to the servants, “Deal with her wounds. Don’t leave any scars.”
“Yes, sir.”
The servants cleaned Linda’s wounds and helped her take a bath. Then, the doctor prescribed some medicine for her, some of which were meant to be applied topically and some to be taken orally.
After all this was done, Linda limped into the dining room and looked at Cecil hesitantly. “Mr. Bo, the doctor said I need to eat on time. Can I have lunch now?”
