Chapter 59
Chapter 59
Augustine gritted his teeth. Looking from Giltstone family's perspective, his grandfather wasn't being too over. However, from Vivianna's point of view, it would be mean and heartless.
"Augustine, you are now the Master of the Giltstone family. The future hostess of the Giltstone family must not be someone out of nowhere, especially a woman who was divorced. What's worse, her ex-husband's was from the Lambert family." When he heard the name, Lambert family, Master Giltstone gritted his teeth.
"Grandpa, your feud with the Lambert Family was over half a century ago. Why are you still holding onto it?" Augustine persuaded his grandfather. Although he didn't really know about his grandfather's past, it seemed like his grandfather did not have a good impression of the Lambert Family.
"Humph. I hate the Lambert family. Zeph's mother was married to someone from the Lambert
Family, so I don't like her either. I know you are close to Zeph's mother now. You'd better not cross the line." Master Giltstone warned stubbornly.
Augustine's face was calm, without any emotion. He nodded, "I will bear it in mind." "I like Zeph. He looks like a copy-version of you, like he's a clone." When Master Giltstone mentioned Zeph, he looked gentle and kind. He didn't look so stubborn.
"But he has his mother's eyes." Augustine retorted.
Master Giltstone glared at him. He took his crutch and stood up, "I'm going to see Zeph. Please go order the kitchen to prepare what Zeph likes to eat."
"Grandpa, if you want to see him, ask the housekeeper to bring him here." Augustine got up and to help him.
"No, it's alright. I'll go by myself." After saying that, Master Giltstone walked out in high spirits with his one hand on his back, and the other one on the crutch.
Behind him, Augustine stepped into the kitchen and ordered some mild-flavoured dishes.
After giving the order, he sat on the sofa. He fell into a deep thought.
In the garden, Zeph found a beautiful Japanese dog, the pet of the Master Giltstone. Unexpectedly, the dog was humane and seemingly knew that Zeph was a member of the Giltstone family upon first sight. It not only followed Zeph but also played with him on the grass.
"So energetic. He is having so much fun with Shiba." Master Giltstone praised him.
"Old Master, this child is really good-looking. He is going to be an excellent young master when he grows up!" The butler exclaimed.
Master Giltstone felt sad, he certainly wouldn't get to witness Zeph's growth. However, he was pleased at the mere thought of having such a smart and adorable great-grandson.
After lunch, Vivianna stood in front of the window in the company with a cup of coffee in hand. She was looking at the towering building opposite, thinking that her son was there. She pursed her lips and smiled with a soft gleam in her eyes.
She had considered Augustine's suggestion. As a matter of fact, living in his castle would be the best for Zeph's safety. They should leave the house as her son was more important than her life. How could she ignore the safety of her son solely because she hated Augustine?
Having thought of that, Vivianna sat down in front of the computer, tapping the keyboard with her slender fingers trying to look into the Giltstone family.
The information of the Giltstone family was pitifully scarce. After searching on the Internet, there were only two pages of information about the Giltstone family. Vivianna was flabbergasted. She clicked into one of the information released about three or four years ago. On it was a brief description of the inheritance war of the Giltstone family. It only mentioned that there was going to be a successor war within the Giltstone family and nothing more.
Vivianna clicked onto another page. An estimated of Augustine's net worth was shown, it was indefinite.
Vivianna opened the first few articles and then closed them in disappointment. It turned out that the Giltstone family had so much control over the news, which was somewhat in line with Augustine's domineering character.
At that time, Linda knocked on her door and came in happily, "Vivianna, I did you a favour."
"What's that?"
"Haven't you always been interested in Leonardo Freeman's paintings? His painting is available at the high-level art exhibition dinner in the city tonight. Coincidentally, I was invited but I didn't have time, so I changed the name on invitation card to yours."
Vivianna gazed at her surprisingly, "Why aren't you going? It is a great opportunity."
"I've been in the industry for 20 years. I'm no longer interested in that kind of banquet but it'd be good for you to attend more exhibitions."
Vivianna was eager to go as she was too young and her designs were often limited. Therefore, she needed to expand the source of her inspiration.
"Thanks so much, Linda." Vivianna held the invitation card and thanked her with enthusiasm.
"You're welcome. You can have a great night for yourself after you've arranged a babysitter for your son!" Linda reminded her with a gentle smile.
Vivianna took a glance at the invitation card, it was quite a large-scale exhibition. What was more, the works displayed were absolutely top-notch both domestically and internationally. Vivianna was looking forward to the event.
She looked at the time. It was over three o'clock in the afternoon. She should call Augustine in advance and asked him to take care of her son tonight. If it was late, she would go straight back to her own house.
She called Augustine on the phone.
"Hello!" There was a deep and charming male.
"Augustine, is Zeph with you?" Vivianna questioned.
"Yes. What's wrong?" Augustine obviously sounded a little bit nervous.
Vivianna didn't ask but begged in a pleading tone, "Can you keep Zeph company tonight? I have something personal to do, I might not be going to your house." Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.
"Personal matter? What's it?" The man's voice instantly became cold.
"I'm attending an art exhibition dinner. It might end late, so I won't be going back to your house. I'll stay in my own house." She explained.
The man was silent before he said, "Okay!"
Vivianna was stunned as he hung up the phone right after he finished his sentence. Did Augustine agree?
D*mn it, she hadn't said a word to Zeph yet! How could he end the call?
She put her phone away and was already missing her son.
In the hall of the Giltstone family, Augustine dialed a number, "Help me find out where the art exhibition will be held. I want an invitation card."
Soon, Yazlynn came back, "It will be held at six o'clock tonight in San Marco Plaza. However, it is just a small social art dinner. It is not appropriate for you to attend.
"When is it starting?"
"It is starting at six o'clock."
"Give me an invitation card and wait for me at the gate of the banquet at half past six in the evening." After giving the order, Augustine hung up the phone.
