My Wife is a Hacker

Chapter 3296

Moreover, those robots were upgraded from the Brave robots Nicole herself had developed, likely making them even more formidable.

"Let's get out of here first," Jared said with a grim expression, grabbing Nicole's hand and leading her outside.

"Warning, warning. Please drop your weapons, or we will initiate an indiscriminate attack." The air was suddenly filled with a mechanical voice, and soon after, several bulky, round objects began to circle Jared, Zane, and the team.

They quickly huddled together, eyeing the combat robots with suspicion.

"What are these things?” Doretta asked, looking worried.

"Watch out, they're combat robots,” Nicole quickly warned.

"Spread out! Don't let them box US in," Zane yelled.

The team tried to scatter, but the robots, now apparently in attack mode, started shooting at them.

A few who couldn't move fast enough got hit, and their screams echoed around.

"What should we do now?" asked Charlie. His expression darkened as he realized indiscriminate attack was akin to mass destruction.

"Mr. Johnston, get Nicole to safety first," Doretta called out. She lunged at the nearest robot.

Even though the robot was just a machine, Doretta hoped it wouldn't be fast enough to catch her. She made her move to attack.

But just as the robot turned to face her, ready to fight back, "Watch out!" Charlie quickly pulled Doretta to safety, then managed to knock the robot aside with a kick.

Bullets ricocheted off the stone wall where they were taking cover.

Doretta, just catching her balance, looked at Charlie's serious face and bit her lip, realizing she had narrowly escaped being hit by the gunfire thanks to him.

"Stay alert," Zane cautioned, his gaze fixed on the robots with a stern look.

Nicole and Jared, standing together, looked through the crowd for Lawrence but couldn't spot him. Content rights belong to NôvelDrama.Org.

"This isn't good, Lawrence is trying to run away," Nicole said urgently. "I need to stop him."

If Lawrence got away now, it would mean all their hard work was for nothing. Nicole was sure that if he escaped, he would use these robots against them, giving them no chance to get away.

As Nicole started to move, Jared didn't hesitate to follow her.

"Handle those robots," Zane ordered, supporting Nicole and Jared's mission.

Stopping the robots and preventing Lawrence from escaping were their top priorities.

Once they were out of the robots' immediate threat, Jared and Nicole went looking for Lawrence.

"Let's head to the stone wall," Nicole suggested. Initially, she thought Lawrence valued these robots so he had the place stored them. But after returning and reflecting on the situation calmly, she realized she had mostly figured out the base's layout except for that peculiar stone wall. She was convinced that place hid more than what they had initially found.

When they went to the stone wall, they found Lawrence and Ian there.

"Trying to make a run for it?" Nicole asked sharply.

Just as she suspected, this place held more significance than just a hidden room. The activation of the robots was not only a warning about their discovery but also a defense for the true secret passage hidden there.
