Chapter 21
“If you like it, I like it too,” Jackson said.
“Don’t just consider whether I like it. You should consider if you like it instead. If you don’t, I can always find another style or color for you,” Serenity said.
“No need. This one is perfect. I really do like it,” Jackson assured her.
“Okay. I’ll get it, then,” Serenity said as she confirmed her order.
He looked at her and suddenly asked, “Sis, why are you so good to me?
Serenity would buy him clothes and a phone, yet she was frugal when it came to herself.
“Because you’re my younger brother, so it’s only natural that I treat you well,” Serenity said matter- of- factly.
Jackson was unsure why, but hearing her call him her ‘younger brother’ was somewhat grating on his
nerves.
Did she truly forget that he was still a man?

After William was embarrassed at the club, he returned to a beating from his father, which landed him in the hospital.
Furthermore, several deals between the Saunders family and Valor Group were affected, which
caused significant losses to the former.
As for the other people who had attended the class reunion that day, they either lost their jobs or their family ran into trouble.
Everyone complained bitterly.
When Janice exited the Human Resource Department, her legs shook, and she felt as though she couldn’t steady herself. She had been handed a termination letter stating that she had been fired and to complete her resignation process within a week.
Fired?!
Janice had never considered that this would happen to her.
Her family had put a lot of effort into securing her position in the City Council, and it had taken considerable connections and favors to secure this stable job. Moreover, her job was a highlight when it came to blind dates and finding a partner. The few blind date prospects she had met were willing to engage her further precisely because she worked at the City Council.
If she was fired like this, not only would it be hard to find another job in the current market, but she would also be humiliated before her family and friends. The prospective blind date she was interested
in would probably lose interest in her once he found out she had been fired from the City Council.
When she asked the Human Resources Department the reason she was fired and what she had done wrong, they simply replied, “It’s an order from the higher-ups. Compensation for the termination will be provided, but you’ll never be hired here again.”
Janice panicked and called Amanda.
“Amanda, what should I do?! The City Council is about to fire me… Y-you said you have connections, don’t you? Could you help me think of something? Find someone who has a connection with my department head and persuade them for me!”
Under normal circumstances, Amanda would help Janice because the latter was an obedient follower.
However, Amanda had her own troubles to deal with at the moment. Content bel0ngs to Nôvel(D)r/a/ma.Org.
Her own family was in jeopardy.
The bank loan they had negotiated had fallen through suddenly, and the funding for their family business was on the verge of collapse. Her entire family was desperately trying to find people to borrow money from.
However, they kept hitting dead ends.
No one dared to lend money to their family, and they were on the verge of bankruptcy!
“I can’t help you. Find someone else!” Amanda said impatiently.
“H-how could you say that? I did everything without hesitation when you asked me to do things before this! You asked me to bring Serenity to the private room for the class reunion, and I did it
refuse!” without complaint. Yet now, when I need some help, you
