Chapter 38
Chapter 38 A Reunion
“Cedar has made arrangements with a hospital at Fernwald. You’ll leave to go abroad in three days,” Jake informed
Sienna.
Upon learning that, Sienna softly pleaded for mercy with a begrudging expression. “Jake, I don’t want to leave. I want to stay at Bellmont City with you and our child.”
Jake’s face remained stern and stubborn. She grabbed his arm tearfully. “Even if you’re not doing it for our kid, think. of Emily. The Hall family was the reason behind her death. You can’t do this to me…”
“My family is at fault for Emily’s death, that’s for sure. But you need to leave.”
Slenna slumped on the couch when she heard Jake’s final verdict.
The gloomy environment at home frustrated Jake to no end. At that moment, Theodore called. “Bro, have you checked out the trending topics?”
Thinking that Theodore was referring to the libelious article against Gwen, Jake replied, “That’s utterly rubbish. The police have made the poster take it down.”
“Are we even on the same page? Go check it out. Your family has been trending on Twitter for a while now, and everyone’s throwing stones at you all. Get your PR department to deal with it.”
After hanging up, Jake checked the news, and his expression promptly fell. A storm brewed in his eyes. Gwen Lawson was indeed quick to act, and boy was she merciless and precise.
To get back at Sienna, who had made up fake news to drag her name through the mud, she immediately took revenge against the Hall family.
Jake hurriedly instructed Cedar to remove the trending topics hashtags, but he was told they had no authority to do so..
The editor–in–chief of Universal Entertainment had made it clear that the Hall family was to trend for days, and no other media were to interfere in any way.
Jake smashed a few glasses in anger upon learning about Judy’s orders.
Theodore popped a bottle of champagne while standing on the table of Halo Bar’s lounge.
“Come on! Cheers to my return to Bellmont!” Contentt bel0ngs to N0ve/lDrâ/ma.O(r)g!
Bradley Moss and a few other friends whopped and applauded from their seats. “We missed you! You’re back for bigger things!”
“Let’s go! Cheers!”
After a few drinks, Theodore noticed Jake hiding in a corner and drinking alone in frustration. Knowing the reason well, Theodore hurried over to comfort his friend.
“Hey, don’t be sad. There’s plenty of fish in the sea. You should be happy to leave the confines of marriage. Just ignore the tabloids.”
‘She’s too merciless.” Bradley was red in the face from too many drinks. He stumbled over and lay on the couch, huffing and puffing. “That’s women for ya!”
“That’s not right. As men, let’s be fair, who was in the wrong?” Theodore immediately got into a debate with Bradley, whose claims he disagreed with. He was honest around his friends.
He argued, “Jake cheated in the first place and got his mistress pregnant behind his wife’s back. Sienna is obviously his mistress.”
Bradley shot back. “Even if Jake cheated, Gwen shouldn’t have sent Caitlin to jail and brought shame to the Hall family!
Chapter 38 A
She’s crossed a line!” Bradley engaged in the debate with Theodore despite his heavy eyelids.
“Is that too much? If I were Gwen, I would have snapped even harder when I learned about the betrayal!” Theodore got himself riled up from the debate when his friend dismissed the facts.
“All men cheat. His wife could have forgiven him!” Bradley defended his skewed moral values.
Theodore and Bradley were locked in a battle, while Jake kept his silence in the middle and wouldn’t stop pouring wine
for himself.
One would get drunk easily when drinking alone in frustration. Jake drunkenly collapsed on the couch soon after amid. Bradley’s rambling.
Unwilling to spar with a wretched man, Theodore left the room and sought the help of the waitstaff to get Jake out of there. As he did so, his gaze accidentally swept past a dazzling figure on the stage.
