Sold to Mr. Arrogant

Confused

Confused

Gerald stood in front of me, I can't believe that the one who will walk with me on the aisle is actually the

most one I wish to kill right at this moment. We crossed arms and headed towards the groom. Shawn

was looking gently at me, he was fabulous, he wore a grey suit that matched his eyes' color.

His necktie was black and his hairstyle had changed a bit, he looked even more mature with this style.

He gave me his hand which I grabbed helping me climb the stairs. I stood steadily facing him, we

waited for the officiant to give his speech.

"Welcome family, friends, and loved ones. We are gathered today to celebrate the union of Lily

Anderson and Shawn Gerald. We are all here to support this commitment of love and to share the joy

of Lily and Shawn as they choose to spend their lives together... "

I couldn't hear the rest of his statement since I was so busy trying to make sure that dad and Jack

aren't within the audience, I was too busy to remember that Jack would go crazy upon hearing the

news of my marriage.

"Your dad refused to come, I also assure you that Jack won't be able to attend this happy day of ours,"

Shawn pointed out in a low volume.

"Why won't he?"

I already speculated that Shawn was the one who invited them, but what is this about Jack not being

able to come?

"Is that what is important right now?"

"Yeah, I want to know what do you mean," I repeated.

"I just confirmed that no news would reach him and one of my men is already watching over him..."

Shawn replied confused by my reaction.

I know that it was normal for me to think that Shawn did so but because of Gerald's threats and the

things I know this family is able to do, I could not help myself but get worried.

When I looked ahead of me, the officiant had already finished his speech. We got congratulated by a

lot of people. I met several members of Shawn's family, his family wasn't big but it was very effective in

the industry.

I headed to my friends who gathered around a single table which is the bride's acquaintances.

"Congratulations, Lily," Diana started. She seemed hurt though, Jenny and Carla faked a smile as well.

I can understand how they are feeling, their best friend didn't inform them of her wedding and did not

even send them the invitations herself. I bet they think that I have changed into an arrogant brat.

"I am sorry I could not tell you any sooner..." I tried to come up with a real excuse but could not find any

so I did not finish the sentence.

"It is okay..." Diana replied.

I turned around to speak with John and Tony who were enjoying the buffet's food.

"Damn, Lily. This food is really great... It is my first time tasting such a good taste," John said with the

meat stuffed in his mouth and a stain found its way to his white chemise.

"You do not need to look that pathetic and poor, try to act elegant. Can't you, please? This is Lily's

wedding." Tony pointed out.

"It is okay... I am happy you are here guys," I commented as I forced a smile out on my face.

Tony noticed my reaction but he knew very well that is not the right time or place to talk about it.

"Let us call each other later, Lily," he added.

"Sure thing, enjoy the food," I instructed taking my leave.

Their presence among this crowd made it less strange and awkward for me, I am thankful that Shawn

invited them even though I feel bad; I should have told them myself.

After the wedding ended, everyone went back to his respective world. I promised my friends that I will

contact them later, I hope I would be able to. We signed the contract marriage and now everything I

own belongs to Shawn, he can use it as freely as he wants.

On the other hand, everything that Shawn has also belongs to me but it is not like I even need that.

I noticed that Shawn was staring at me throughout the wedding, he wanted to talk, he felt that I am not

the same as before and he is right about it. I do not know what to tell him though, I need to think about

something quickly.

I was absorbed in my thoughts when a hand grabbed mine, it was Shawn pulling me behind him.

"We have to talk don't you think?" he asked still dragging me after him.

We weren't heading to my room nor his which is to be expected, my heart was racing so fast and my

hands started sweating. The room we stepped in wasn't far from our respective rooms, it was much

bigger and fancier. It was also on the third floor but at the end of the corridor.

As soon as we entered, Shawn closed the door behind us and looked at me with confused eyes. Content © copyrighted by NôvelDrama.Org.

"What is wrong with you? Why do I feel that you are unhappy?" he asked.

"I am not, I am so glad that we married, I am sorry I asked you that question earlier. I was just worried

that Jack might have caused you trouble," I lied.

"Are you sure everything is okay?" he repeated while taking steady steps towards me, a few inches

were separating us now and his breath was as hot as a volcano.

"I am just nervous," I confessed taking a step back. I might have been ready to do it a few days ago but

not now, I won't feel good if we have done it now given these circumstances.

"Don't be, I am right here with you," he whispered taking another step forward, my back was leaning on

the wall behind me now and my heart was about to give up on me from the intensity of Shawn's stares.

He stuck his body to mine eliminating every bit of air that was standing between us.
