Chapter 18

I Have A Wolf “Come, little one, let’s get you out of here; we have a bit of a drive if we are to get to the Moon Gardens in time,” Xavier said. Saphira nodded her head and turned to walk up the stairs. But we all stopped when her Uncle began to laugh. I bet you think you have won, don’t you? You believe that everything will finally be sunshine and roses from here on out. You are so wrong. Constance will find you, and when she does, your life will be a living hell. “Who is Constance? I asked Saphira. “I don’t know. I have never heard that name before” “Oh, but you do know her.” Her Uncle spat. “She has just been. disguised as you worthless aunt all these years.” “What do you mean disguised as my Aunt?” Constance is my true Mate and a very powerful witch. When the passing car saw the wreck and called for the police, we couldn’t just take you and make it seem like you had died in the crash as well. We had to come up with another option. Constance decided it best to take the form of your Aunt, to get you to willingly come with us as well as erase the last bit of family you had here on this earth. We took your Aunt when we arrived at the hospital that night. Don’t worry; before we killed her, we made sure to let her know you were responsible for all of it. How does it feel to know you are the reason your mother, Father, and Aunt are gone. “REN!” Dante yelled. I turned around to see Saphira’s entire body shaking and a Silver and Gold mist circling her body. Her eyes had begun to shift from Silver to Black and back to Sliver. “Boys, we need to slowly back away.” My Father said, “She has just learned of her powers, and I do believe she somehow has managed to break part of the curse that had been cast on her. She hasn’t been trained to control her power, and with her emotions high, there is no telling what she may do.” “DO we still need him?” Saphira asked, but her voice was different. “What do you mean?” I asked. Before, you told us that he was only alive because you needed to get information out of him about who cursed us and created the serum. We have those answers now. So I ask my question again: Have A Woll * 204 Douanere DO WE STILL NEED HIM?” “Wait,’ I said, “who is we?”. My name ist Elune, and I am her wolf, a silence washed over everyone in the room. Elune smiled. Did you actually think a Moon ChildText property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.

wouldn’t have a wolf?” “Well I did wonder about that but hadn’t pushed the matter yet,” my Father admitted. “And your answer is no, we don’t need him anymore” “Good.” Elune replied. She turned to the cell holding her this Imposter that had claimed to be her Uncle. I could see fangs. beginning to replace her human teeth and hear bones began to snap. She let out a scream and lunged towards him. In mid-air, she shifted, landing on four paws instead of two feet. She was the most beautiful creature I had ever laid my eyes on. She was every bit as tall as me in wolf form, if not taller. She had beautiful deep purple fur that looked black at times. Her paws were golden, and she had large golden wings. that almost dragged the ground when she walked. In the middle of her head was a Golden Triple Moon Goddess Symbol that shined like it was made of starlight. “What the hell are you?” The b a s t a r d yelled at her. I am what your nightmares are made of, she spoke. WAIT, she can talk in wolf form, no fair, I want to be able to do that… He was about to say something else when Elune jumped forward and ripped his head from his shoulders. She dropped his head from her mouth and walked to me. It is time I let Saphira back, I am tired of fighting this curse to stay out, and this shift has drained us both. She will need to rest for some time. Once we shift back, Our human form will need some time to recover. Yes Elune I understand. Elune then walked to me and began to shift. “Go upstairs and wait, here take her things please.” I handed her things to Dante. “We will be up shortly.” I could hear Saphira begin to cry, the shifting process was very painful the first few times. I sat on the floor and took her in my arms pulling her into my lap. “It’s ok” I said as I rubbed her head and rocked her back and forth. “It will be over soon I promise” After she was finished shifting I wrapped her in a blanket from her bed and carried her up the stairs. I mind-linked my father that I was going to take her back to the packhouse so she could get a new set of clothes and to please have the car ready for our trip within the hour.
