The Bride Who Said No: Escaping the Shadows of Yesterday

Chapter 247

Kieran's grip on her arm suddenly tightened.

Freya winced, a sharp intake of breath as a sheen of cold sweat broke out on her forehead. "Kieran, you're hurting me!"

Then, Kieran realized his lapse, noticing the wound on Freya's arm that he was inadvertently squeezing, and he quickly let go.

Seeing it, Freya immediately put some distance between them.

"It doesn't matter whether it's Ronan or Preston. It has nothing to do with you, Mr. Sutton. We're no longer engaged, so you have no right to meddle in my affairs, as we've agreed."Exclusive content from NôvelDrama.Org.

Kieran scoffed coldly at her insistence on severing their connection. "It looks like you've cozied up to those two."

"Think whatever you want, Mr. Sutton." Freya didn't want a further conversation with Kieran.

"Freya, those guys are way out of your league. I'll be here waiting for the day you come crawling back to me."

"Rest assured, Mr. Sutton. That day will never come."

With that, Freya picked up her cane from the ground and started limping toward the stairs, a struggle evident in each step.

The maid nearby, who wanted to offer her support, was stopped by a sharp look from Kieran.

Wanting to distance herself from him? He was not about to let her get her way.

Freya got up early the following morning, intending to move out of the Sutton Mansion as soon as possible.

However, she found Nancy unpacking her suitcase, laying out everything she had packed the night before. "Nancy, what's going on?"

Upon hearing Freya, Nancy stood up and explained, "Mr. Sutton said it's difficult to find a place near Summit University now. We need more time to arrange your accommodation, so he's asked you to stay here until we find you somewhere else."

Freya frowned and pondered, 'Hard to find a place? What a joke! With Kieran's business clout in Echo City, if he wanted to buy a property, did he need to search for one? Reat estate agents would be lining up to offer him the best properties. What is Kieran up to?'

"Where's Mr. Sutton? I need to see him."

"Mr. Sutton went to the office today. He won't be back until this evening."

As Nancy continued unpacking Freya's things, Freya couldn't help but remark, "Audrey wanted me out as soon as possible. Isn't he afraid of upsetting her by not listening?"

"Ms. Dawson, don't worry. Mr. Sutton informed me and Mrs. Sutton first thing this morning. She was quite understanding and agreed immediately!"

"Agreed?" Freya was stunned.

'How was that possible? Audrey was

eager for me to move out. How could she agree so easily? Could she not see that Kieran was using the excuse of not finding a place to keep me here? No, something else must be going on.'

Freya asked, "Nancy, how did Mr. Sutton ask you to inform Mrs. Sutton this morning?"

"It wasn't much, just something 'bout it's tough to find a spot right now. Mr. Sutton suggested you bunk here till you bounce back. Oh, and something about going on dates."

Nancy hesitated when she mentioned the dates. After all, Freya had been Kieran's fiancée until just recently. That Mr. Sutton was already seeing other women seemed indelicate. Unexpectedly, hearing about Kieran's dating life almost made Freya laugh out loud.

Dating, huh? So that's how it was.

"Ms. Dawson?"
