The Fortune-Telling Heiress

Chapter 383

"Madison?" Sebastian frowned.

He was about to speak when Madison pulled him behind her.

With a clang, the Ghost King had already appeared before them, his sharp claws clashing against Madison's bronze sword.

"He's mine." The Ghost King's gaze fell on Sebastian before slowly shifting to Madison.

His blood-red eyes slightly widened in surprise upon seeing Madison. The negative energy surrounding him dissipated in the next moment, revealing an incredibly handsome face. Madison was stunned.

His gaze traveled from Madison's brows and eyes down to her lips. The coldness in his eyes faded and was replaced by a gentle smile.

"It's been a long time since I've seen a cultivator with such pure spiritual energy."

He reached out to grab Madison's hand, but she raised her sword to block him.

Despite Madison's icy demeanor, the Ghost King continued to smile gently. "I've been stuck at a standstill in my cultivation, unable to find a way to move forward. I never expected that the heavens would send me a cultivator with such pure energy. Truly a gift from the heavens!"

Madison stepped back with the tip of her sword pointed at him.

She looked at him with a sharp gaze. "You want to use me as a spiritual vessel to aid your cultivation?"

The Ghost King burst into laughter. "A spiritual vessel? Hahaha! Of course not. I want to have a joint cultivation with you!"

Madison was dumbfounded.

Sebastian's expression shifted upon hearing the term "joint cultivation".

He asked Madison, "What does joint cultivation mean?"

Madison didn't respond, but the Ghost King said, "Joint cultivation benefits both of us. I'll use my negative energy to aid your cultivation, and you'll use your pure spiritual energy to assist me. Isn't that a win-win situation?" Sebastian's gaze darkened.

Just as he was about to move, he felt Madison's grip on his wrist tighten.

Sebastian kept silent.novelbin

The Ghost King's contemplative look abruptly froze.

His gaze shifted downward to where Madison held Sebastian's wrist, then gradually rose to Sebastian's face. His gaze darted back and forth between Madison and Sebastian.

"You came here for him?" the Ghost King pointed at Sebastian.

Madison remained silent, watching the Ghost King warily. Unlike the sentinel spirits or ordinary ghosts, this Ghost King was unfathomably powerful.

She gripped her bronze sword tightly, holding it horizontally in front of her. "I did come for him."

"Then, that makes things easier." The Ghost King extended his hand. "He bears great fortune, yet his astral body is unstable, always facing calamities. Don't you find that strange?" Madison didn't say anything.

"Do you want to know why?"

The Ghost King chuckled and reached out to grasp Madison's wrist, which held the sword. He

gently pulled her forward. "Comen et

with me, and then you can decide

whether you want to cultivate with

me.

He turned and smiled at Sebastian. "You should come along too and see for yourself."

Madison and Sebastian exchanged glances. She sheathed her sword and freed her wrist from the Ghost King's grasp. The Ghost King merely smiled.

As Madison was about to release her grip on Sebastian's wrist, he suddenly caught her hand and held it tightly in his palm.

Madison was shocked.

Sebastian said, "I'm scared!"

Madison was left speechless.

The Ghost King led them further inside.

Suddenly, a withered bone from one

of the blood pools reached out, accompanied by a sharp, piercing wail. The Ghost King frowned in annoyance and waved his hand. "Enough." In the blink of an eye, the bone turned to dust.

Madison stared at the blood pool and realized that it was made up of living human bones piled on top of each other. Some were still showing signs of awareness, and ghosts hovered over them.

Seeing Madison looking at the blood

pool, the Ghost King smiled. "This is a toy I made out of boredom. When living people are thrown in, as long as I don't intervene, they'll never die. Even if they turn to bones, they'll remain alive. Isn't it interesting?"

Madison was stunned by what she just heard.
