The Fortune-Telling Heiress

Chapter 390

Avery relaxed his clenched fist, slowly closing his eyes as he smiled at the sky. "I've said it before. This is my first marriage in a thousand years.'

Suddenly, he opened his eyes wide. "You're all going to die!"

Avery's powerful wave of negative energy erupted, surging toward the attacking crowd.

Everyone was violently thrown back, crashing hard to the ground.

Madison turned swiftly, lifting the veil from her face and swinging the bronze sword toward Avery.

Avery sidestepped, dodging her strike. He was on the high platform in a flash, looking down at the gathered crowd.

His gaze swept across them, finally landing on Madison. "It seems you're not very interested in completing this ceremony."

With a flick of her wrist, Madison enveloped the sword blade in spiritual energy. "Not really."

"Don't you want to know how to break the divine talismans?"

Madison tilted her head to meet his gaze. "If I capture you, I'll find plenty of ways to make you talk."

A hint of amusement flickered in Avery's eyes. "Interesting! Do you really think you can capture me? A bunch of novice cultivators and a group of powerless mortals? Madison, you underestimate me far too much." Madison couldn't help but laugh. "Avery, it's you who underestimate mortals."

At that moment, the fallen Erwin shouted, "Ms. Locke, get back!"

Madison darted outside while the other cultivators quickly positioned themselves in their respective places.

"Formation!"

The 12 cultivators at various positions joined their hands in seals, and beams of golden light radiated from beneath their feet, shooting toward the sky. "Binding formation!"

Avery glanced at the formation and burst into laughter. "Do you really think this formation can trap me? I can break free in an instant."

Such a formation might pose a slight threat if a powerful cultivator cast it, but what could these weaklings possibly accomplish?

A 15-minute trap?

"An instant is all we need! Mr. Beaumont!"novelbin

Logan responded loudly, "It's all set!"

A group of people pushing heavy weaponry stepped forward.

With a loud firing sound, the deafening roar of cannon fire shattered the veil, exploding within the formation.

Boom after boom echoed, and inside the veil, negative energy surged to counter the explosions.

Madison gripped the bronze sword tightly, and everyone watched intently at the formation.

Five minutes later, the cultivators maintaining the formation coughed up a mouthful of black blood. The formation shattered instantly. "He's still alive," Erwin exclaimed in surprise.

Madison soared into the swirling smoke and negative energy, where light intertwined with the shadows. Amidst the haze, the sound of clashing metal echoed.

The cultivators sustaining the formation supported each other as they emerged. "How did this attack not kill him?" Logan furrowed his brows.

Five full minutes of bombardment

would have obliterated any ordinary person to mere dust and bones. But this Ghost King still had strength left.

"Can Madison handle this?"

"Should we go help?"

Erwin stopped them. "The Ghost King's cultivation is profound. If we go, we'll either die or become a burden."

Michael wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth. "Madison is quite impressive! She's actually holding her own against the Ghost King!"

Though the other cultivators did not

echo his words, they all urgently watched the fight. They had barely seen what was happening when Madison had already leaped into the fray, they could hardly make out the situation, yet Madison had already exchanged blows multiple times.

Liam pressed his hand against his painful chest and frowned. "Erwin, tell me the truth. Which faction does Madison belong to?"
