The Unshackled Queen: Never Say Never

Chapter 1976

“I’ll sign an agreement stating that neither the hospital nor you will be held responsible.”

Seeing that he couldn’t change her mind, Dr.

Burton shrugged and sighed, “Miss Moore, all I can do is wish you luck.”

Charlie and Dotson were stationed outside the ward.

As soon as they spotted Hannah and Dr.

Burton approaching, they immediately stood up.

“Boss.”

“Miss Moore.”

Hannah nodded and said, “Open the door.

I need to go in with Dr.

Burton to examine him.”

“Okay.

Dotson nodded and promptly opened the door for them.

Once Hannah and Dr.

Burton entered, he closed the ward door behind them.

Approaching the bed, Dr.

Burton glanced at the frail patient and then at Hannah.

“I’ve warned you before, so I shouldn’t have said much right now.

But I have to ask you one more time: are you really ready in case the specific medicine fails?”

Gazing at the elderly man in bed, Hannah finally nodded.

“I trust in my skills and, even more so, in the effectiveness of the medicine I’ve prepared.”

She looked up at Dr.novelbin

Burton and said, “I have signed the agreement.

Don’t worry.”

Dr.

Burton shook his head in exasperation.

“You know, that’s not what I’m worried about.”

A heavy silence settled over the room.

Hannah stepped forward and gently rolled up the sleeves of Wallace’s hospital gown, exposing his slender arms.

Without hesitation, she administered the injection directly into Wallace.

Dr.

Burton stood to the side, his nerves on edge as he anxiously watched, dreading any sound from the electrocardiogram.

However, about ten minutes after the injection, it appeared that there was no noticeable change in Wallace’s condition.

Dr.

Burton glanced at his watch, then turned to the electrocardiogram monitor beside him, and slowly exhaled in relief.

Although there was no immediate reaction, the patient remained stable after the injection, and for Dr.

Burton, that was the most important outcome.

Seeing Hannah place her hand on Wallace’s wrist, Dr.

Burton tried to reassure her.

“It’s alright; even though there’s no immediate effect.

The fact that he’s stable is a good sign.”

“He’s better!” Hannah exclaimed all of a sudden.

As she checked Wallace’s pulse, she felt it was stronger, indicating that the medicine had likely taken effect.

“What?” Dr.

Burton arched his brows and eyed Hannah with suspicion.

“You merely touched his hand and found out he is better?”

Hannah smiled, walked around the bed, and gave Dr.

Burton a reassuring pat on the shoulder.

“Thank you so much, Dr.

Burton.”
