Chapter 35: Funnier
Chapter 35: Funnier
Someone sent me an invitation. My brow furrowed as I read the details. A smirk slowly formed on my lips. The party is exclusively for wealthy people only. I was one of the guests to whom they sent the gold envelope.
I told Diego that I wouldn't come since I had to take care of my son. But he insisted that I should be the one to attend. He could take good care of David, but he was tired from work. That man. I shook my head while remembering what he had said.
"It's okay, Jaz. I'll take care of the company while playing with David. You need to socialize, too. I can see that you've been stressed lately. And it's my fault, because I let you work for your ex's wedding," he said.
He's worried and cared about me and David. It's just a pity that I can't love him the way he loves me. I let out a sigh.
I just wore a white high slit long gown,, together with a gold necklace and paired with gold heels. This dress is too showy, but I've been wearing this kind of dress since we were abroad.
I left the house At seven In the evening to attend the party. I arrive at exactly eight because the venue is the Royal Hotel.
I handed them the gold invitation card, and they let me enter. Actually, we should have our partners coming here, but no one could take good care of David. Diego insisted on staying and watching for David. When I entered, I saw a crowd full of expensive suits and jewellery. All of them are wearing millions of suits.
Of course, everyone who sees me keeps on greeting me, including those I invested in their company.
Even businesswomen and businessmen from other countries were here. I stood at a table and got a drink. When someone called me. I regret turning around.
"Ms. Stewart," he smiled so big while wiping his sweat. I can even see from here that he's already wet.
"Mr. Adam!" I acted normally but the thing is I was surprised that he's also here. What bad luck.
"I have never heard from you since the last time your secretary called you," he said, sounding a little mad, but he managed to smile.
"About that, I haven't formally apologized," I said and drank my wine. I also know that he's staring at me.
He suddenly held my hand, and I really liked to push him because his hand was also wet when someone grabbed him in his colour.
"Don't you dare touch her with your filthy hand." his expression shows no mercy, which makes Mr Adam scared.
"Travis! Stop that you're making a scene," I said in a lower voice, and he let go of Mr. Adam. After that, Mr. Adam walked away with a scared face.
"You're letting that bastard hold you? What kind of woman you are?" His words suddenly made me angry, and I didn't notice that I already slapped him. Luckily, we are not in a crowded place.
I look at him angrily and want to slap him for the second time for questioning me like that. What did he think? That I'm flirting with different guys? That I am that kind of woman who will just simply go to another man's house? I saw how his expression darkened. I gulped when he touched my hand. I want to get my hand back but he's too strong and doesn't want to let go of it.
I struggled for the meantime when he realized that he was hurting me. He let go of me, and I glared at him.
"Think whatever you want, Travis! I
won't stop you! But you don't have the right to question me! To judge me! How dare you look like I'm some kind of prostitute woman?!" I pushed him, but he was too strong, and he didn't even move an inch.
"I'm sorry that's not what I mean," he said, but it's too late. He already said it, and know he meant it. Even now, he doesn't want to stop hurting
my feelings, even though done
and there's nothing to talk about us.
I hate him. I hate him so much that I wanted to leave here.
"Enough, Travis! You hurt me too much. You're merciless," I said, but before I could turn around, someone encircled his arm on my waist, and when I looked who that person was, it was Paul.
"Is there something wrong here?" he asked, but I just shook my head. I looked at Travis, and he's now glaring at Paul, who doesn't give a care at all.
He shouldn't act like that. There's nothing for him to act in that way. He's just getting worse.
"Let's just go to that area," I said, which made him nod. We started walking away from him, while he was so mad.
How dare he think about me like that? While we were walking, I couldn't take my mind off what he was saying. Damn him! He's purely evil!
"It seems like someone is jealous huh?" He murmured, but clearly enough for me to hear. I looked at him, but he just showed me his broad smile.
"What is it?" I asked him when we got to another available table.
"Nothing, I said. You look stunning tonight," he whispered. He smelled liquor. I rolled my eyes and distanced myself a little bit.
"You really need something else." I get a glass of wine and drink it. Damn that jerk! He's totally out of his mind. I wanted to mess up my hair right now, but I would ruin my style. Damn! "What with the frowning face, huh?" He chuckled and pinched my cheeks.
"Paul," I warned as I glared at him,
but he just laughed at me. That jerk! I rolled my eyes. I caressed my arm when I sensed someone was looking at us. i smirked secretly and looked at Paul. I see, he's still
watching us. All content © N/.ôvel/Dr/ama.Org.
I smiled at Paul to make him even angrier. This is a lot funnier than I expected.
"So, is Travis bugging you? He seemed angry, and I saw him holding your hand tight. That's why I thought of interfering with both of your businesses a while ago." He said without hesitation, like he was investigating me. "Actually, why do you seem concerned? I mean, you are like figuring something else," I said, but he just chuckled and drank wine.
"Maybe yes, maybe no. I just want to find something. And to know you even more. How is that?" I smiled, but I didn't find it interesting.
