BOOK 2. CHAPTER 50
Harriette's POV
As I stared at her back as she walked away, someone appeared in try line of vision and I was forced to look away from her
It was Ella
"Hi" she waved at her. "Come
my table is over there,"
She held my hand and dragged me towards her table which was unfortunately right next to the table where the woman. called Daisy and her friends sat.
As Ella and I took a seat, Madam Daisy scrunched her nose and scoffed.
"Rogues," she mumbled under her breath.
I scoffed and Ella laughed. We weren't ashamed of being Rogues. In fact, we were proud of it. For the past few months, we've been Rogues and we weren't treated any less than normal.
"She hit me squarely on the shoulder and didn't even apologize, I told Ella.
"Ignore her. It's too early to start having enemies. We can't do what we did in Alpha Rowan's pack here again,"
She warned me
"I don't have plans of making trouble and you, don't incite me. No funny games. Tell me whatever it is that's happening and don't keep anything away from me, alright?" I warned her.
"Fine, I won't do anything stupid,"
"Good girl,"
She scrunched her nose and belched as though she wanted to puke.
"So, tell me,
I asked her.
how has your stay been so far?"
“Perfect! I think I'll like it here. I get to share a room with someone but I don't have a roommate yet. I have kitchen duties as well but nothing as serious as the one I had in Alpha Rowan's pack. Just only morning duties and it's just for two hours. I can get other jobs as well and I already told Alpha Darius I would love to work in their library. We've missed out on so much. L can't wait to learn more,"
She said all at once. She loved it here even though she hadn't spent twenty-four hours and she was also vocal about it
"Do you think we should get a phone?" She suddenly asked me
"If you want to, but as for me, I won't get one,"
Someone brought our breakfast to the table.
"Thank you," Ella and I chorused.
"You're very much welcome, the girl happily answered.
Fri, Nov
"You shouldn't use those plates for anyone else after they're done, understood Daisy instructed the girl
Ella and I turned to her.
"Why?" The girl asked
"Are you blind? Can't you see they're Rogues?"
The girl scoffed and turned to us apologetically.
"It's fine." Ella answered.
"What position does she hold in this pack?" I asked her.
"Nothing! She's just the younger sister of the Beta,”
I nodded slowly, sizing Daisy up.
"Don't do it. Harriette," Ella warned.
I laughed. "Do what?"
"I know what you're thinking.
I shrugged. I don't care," She gave
me a side look
So what do you say about the phone?"
She asked me again.
I hummed. I took one spoonful of the food and I loved the taste already.
"Should we get one together!"
"Were we born togther?" I asked her.
She frowned at me and angrily stuffed her mouth with the food
"You're mean."
feedback "Listen, Ella, you can do whatever you want to do. We're no longer at home and it's okay to blend in wherever we are, alright? I'm just skeptical about a lot of things, especially our safety. We've been gone for so long and we haven't given any to her," She knew I was talking about Mother. I'm not sure if she would sit back and hold her peace,"
"I'm scared of the same thing happening too," she confessed,
Mother wasn't the patient type and she never knew how to take no for an answer. Knowing fully well what she was capable. of. I hoped she didn't get to find out where we were.
"Did you hear about Luna Angela?" Ella and I stopped talking as we heard that question. It came from the table beside us
Daisy chuckled loudly, "She's back in the pack and I heard she came back with two girls, hoping one of them would be her daughter, Stupid bitch,"
I gripped the spoon I was holding tightly, almost bending it.
"If I were her daughter, I would run away from her too," Daisy added.
"That's bad, Daisy. You shouldn't say that, one of her friends cautioned her.
"Why not? She thinks she's someone important and always walk around with so much pride. She thinks because she could paint those ridiculous artworks of hers, she's better than all of us. She's just pathetic and a stupid person,"
She spat.
LI
"They're not ridiculous," I answered. I placed my hand under my chin and turned in her direction.
"What?" She yelled.
"Those artworks aren't ridiculous," I told her.
"I wasn't talking to you, you stinky bitch. Mind your fucking business,"
I laughed and I nodded and turned back to Ella.
Ella placed her hand on mine and shook her head.
"Don't do it, Harriette. Let peace reign." She said loudly.
And then she smirked before winking at me.
I folded the sleeves of my shirt until it was above my elbow. I took one last bite of my meal and drank some water before bending the spoon fully. Daisy was still throwing insults at Luna Angela.
-T'll be killing two birds with a spoon. One, I'll finally get to have physical combat after such a long time. Two, I'll be
defending Luna Angela's honor
"Make us proud, Harriette," Ella added.
In the blink of an eye, I was out of my seat. I stood behind Daisy and before one of her friends could warn her of an impending disaster, I grabbed her by her hair and first slammed her face into her plate for food.
She hadn't screamed yet. The pain hadn't settled in yet. Next, I smashed her head on the table
I managed to slam her into the ground with brutal force. I punched her face as though it was nothing. The more she screamed, the more I punched.
All I saw was blood. All I wanted was her blood.
I picked up a stool, ready to bash her head in.Content (C) Nôv/elDra/ma.Org.
"The next time you want to talk shit about Luna Angela, think about this moment," I yelled at her.
I raised the stool, and she screamed, waiting for the impact, but it never happened because someone pulled me away from her, making me drop the stool on her leg.
1 growled and charged towards her again.
"STOP"
A/N
I was so excited about writing this chapter. That ending scene should've happened later and not so soon but I had to add it here becasue I wanted to spell out the difference between Angela and her daughter. Angela could take all the disrespect and insult from Daisy but not Harriette. Harriette isn't as patient as her mother. She loves violence just like her father.
Of course, Ella is her partner in crime. I have a friend like that too
