BOOK 2 CHAPTER 49

Harriette's POV

I found out yesterday that the boy I saw was Reina's younger brother and apparently he had a twin sister who refused to come home.

The boy didn't say anything to me. He just walked past me and went into his room. Luna Angela tried calling him back but he didn't stop until he got to the door.

Later, we had dinner and everyone went to bed. I couldn't let go of what I saw. It ate at me Was it real or an imagination? Should I tell someone or I shouldn't? How could I tell anyone when I wasn't even sure of what I saw?

When I woke up the following day, it was five am. I almost cursed out as I stared at the clock. Thanks to Commander Mika, I was now used to waking up at exactly five am, waiting for her to kick open my door and scream her lungs out

I kicked the duvet away and used the bathroom. I kept staring at the clock, waiting for seven before I left the room. It was a strange house and a strange pack, I didn't want to come off as too bold.

By seven, my door creaked open. It was Luna Angela,

I wanted to check if you were awake,"

"I've been awake since five," I answered.

"Is everything okay? Are you fine?"

I nodded. "Yeah, I'm good,"

"You should come down for breakfast whenever you're ready."

I stood up

from the bed almost immediately and she laughed. I couldn't help but smile back at her. I followed her downstairs and into the Kitchen

I met two other women already preparing breakfast for the members of the house.

"Do you like cooking, harriette?" Luna Angela asked.

1 grinned weirdly.

"I'll take that as a no,"

"Please do,"

Cooking wasn't a thing I loved doing or I would love to do later gn. I don't think my name and the word kitchen would ever rhyme. I would rather stay in the wild and hunt all my life than spend five seconds cooking

an I call you Reina?"

A new male voice asked from behind me. I turned to see it was the boy from yesterday. That horrible image flashed acros my eyes again and I quickly pushed it away.

I'm more comfortable with Harriette,"

"Good! Call me Liam then," he said and stretched his hand at me for a handshake.

17:02 Fri, Nov 1 BBB.

I took it. "Nice meeting you, Liam,"

"Same here. We've been waiting for you for a while and I'm glad you're here. Now, Mom can finally get rid of that eene portrait of yours and put up a real picture that wouldn't scare the daylight out of visitors," he said all at once.

TIAM," Luna Angela yelled.

55%

I had to leave the kitchen to see the portrait he was talking about. It didn't look bad though but honestly, it looked nothing like me.

"That's supposed to be me." I asked, pointing at myself.

Liam shrugged. "I told you."

Both Liam and I turned when we heard footsteps coming our way. It was that of a girl who looked so much like me. I waved at her but she frowned at me and walked into the kitchen.

"That's Lyla. She's my twin. She hates you," Liam informed me.

"Why? What did I do?"

I only came into this Pack yesterday and today was the first time we would be seeing each other. So, where could the hatred be coming from! "Ignore her. That's just how she is. Sometimes, I lie to people she's not my twin. She's a spoilt brat who always gets what she wants. So, if she hates you, know it's her, not you,"

He explained. The boy sounded too mature for his age.

Luna Angela came out of the kitchen with Layla. She had another bag with her. That was when I noticed Liam and Layla were in the same uniform, "Do you want lunch today, Liam?" Luna Angela asked,

"I'm good with cash,"

Luna Angela gave him some money and murmured to me that he hated taking lunch with him to school.

"Walk with us, Harriette, Liam suggested.

"What! No, I don't think I should,"

"Please," he begged.

There was no way I could say no to that.

Layla rolled her eyes and walked out of the house.

Tll be back soon," I assured Luna Angela before leaving with Liam. Layla was walking ahead of us.

Liam tried describing most of the buildings in the pack as we walked along, He'd already told me their school wasn't that far so I shouldn't be worried about walking for too long.

Layla soon met up with another girl. The new girl waved at us and before we could wave that, Layla grabbed her hand and pulled her away. "That's Brianna,"

"Ooh!" I answered even though I didn't know who that was

"I bet you don't know who dut is, I shook my head. "Remember Uncle Azalea?" I shook my head again.

He scoffed. "Who do you remember then? He asked exasperatedly.

"I don't even remember who I was, Liam. How am I supposed to remember Uncle Azalea?" I asked him genuinely

He gave me a sad puppy look. "Don't give me that pity look, I don't want it, I cautioned him.

His shoulder slumped and he mumbled. "Fine,"

"So, who's the girl?"

"Do you know Grandma? I mean, mom's mom,"

"I met her yesterday," I answered, thinking what did she have to do with the girl.

"That's her mother,"

What! Did I just hear him right?

"And Uncle Azalea is her dad," He added.

"Uuncle Azalea is how old again?" I asked before my mouth could stop itself.

"He should be around dad's age,"

Ooh, that was all I said before I sealed my mouth. I couldn't understand how that was possible but it wasn't any of y

business.

We fi

finally arrived at the school. I smiled as another memory came to me. Reina was standing outside the school with Alpha Darius. He placed a necklace around her neck and she said something that surprised him before she ran to meet her friends.

"Harriette, do you have a phone?"

Liam asked.

"Nope,

It was a devil's gadget, what was I supposed to do with it?

"Uhm, Can you pick me up later after school then? 1 close by two

1 nodded, happy to do just that..

We waved goodbye and separated.Exclusive © content by N(ô)ve/l/Drama.Org.

I asked the next person I saw for the location of Packhouse 1. That was where Ella was assigned Alpha Darius had told me that after he came back from dinner last night. I planned to meet up with Ella and get breakfast with her as well

As I walked into the building and looked around for Ella, a woman hit me squarely by the shoulder. I paused, waiting for an apology but nothing came. Instead, she glared at me and asked, “Are you blind?" When she clearly knew she was at fault.

"You just..."

She turned around and walked away, making me swallow my words.

"Daisy,"
