CEO's Tears Over Pregnancy Test Discovery

Chapter 1476

He called suddenly. It had to be because of her. She hadn't responded to his messages or picked up his calls, so now he was likely using Winnie to give her trouble.

"I just wanted to check in on you. Where are you right now?" Ben's tone was calm, but Jamie could tell he had guessed she was nearby.

Every word he said now, Jamie could hear perfectly.

Winnie, holding her phone with a radiant smile, replied happily, "Of course, I'm at home, resting. Jack, was work tiring today?"

"Not too bad. And your sister?" Ben shifted the topic directly to Jamie.

Winnie was a bit surprised he was asking about Jamie, but then reasoned it must be because of her. Jack cared for Winnie, and naturally, that extended to checking in on her sister.

"She's right here with me. We might go to the hospital tomorrow. I haven't seen Charlie in a few days," Winnie answered.

"Do you know what your sister is wearing right now..." Ben's tone slowed, drawing out each word, but Jamie, pale and breaking out in a cold sweat, quickly cut in.

"Winnie, I'll head to my room for a bit," she said, barely holding herself together.

If she didn't get to her room to send Ben the photo he had demanded, he would only escalate things.

"Huh? Want me to come with you?" Winnie asked, still holding her phone and unaware of the tension in Jamie's expression. She sensed something was off with her sister today but couldn't put her finger on what. "No need," Jamie said, quickly heading upstairs, her footsteps echoing with urgency. She didn't dare waste a second.

"Oh, alright, I'll leave you be," Winnie said, settling back on the couch. "By the way, Jack, you were saying something about my sister?"

"It's nothing. I just meant she can handle going to the hospital on her own. There's no need for you to go with her. You should be resting at home," Ben replied, now that Jamie had finally sent the photo.

He dropped the subject, opening the photo and zooming in to study it carefully.

Four years on, Jamie's legs were still as pale and slender as before, though now marked with scars that he found distasteful. To him, those scars were just another consequence of her betrayal. Another message came in from Jamie. "I sent the picture. Is this enough?"

Ben stared at the message, already picturing her wary, tear-filled eyes, timid and vulnerable, like a

frightened rabbit. He tapped out his response, fingers barely pausing over the screen. "Not nearly enough. I want a video. And remember how you're supposed to address me."

"Jack? Did you even hear what I just said?" Winnie asked, breaking the silence when Ben didn't respond.Content rights belong to NôvelDrama.Org.

For a moment, she thought he

seemed distracted, and it unsettled her. She was certain that Jack loved her deeply. If he didn't want to talk, he wouldn't have called her in the first place, right? en

"Oh, sorry," Ben replied casually. "I was just finishing up a report, so it's a bit hectic right now."

His voice sounded distant, almost dismissive, yet Winnie easily convinced herself that he was simply overworked.

Her heart softened even more, reassuring herself that he was working hard for their future, managing all of this just to call her. She thought, "He really does love me so much."
